Windows 7?

Whos moving?

Im on Vista. And they just released Vista Sp2 a few months ago. There seems to be nothing wrong with vista for me right now... so hm..
its not like the windows 7 UI is very nice either ..

most of the features like drag-resizing is just useless because double clicking works better since windows 2000.

The ONLY thing I am considering is that Windows 7 has slideshow wallpaper. You can have your wallpapers change every .. while or so.
Although surprisingly they took out dreamscene feature (movie wallpaper).

Hmm.. I already downloaded Win7 32bit (2gb ish), might as well just upgrade huh?

Ima google around to see if there are any punkbuster & win7 conflicts.

I too downloaded the Window7 RTC and then installed it as a 2nd boot system. Afterwards i installed my BF2142. That is when i found out that 2142 doesnt work with Win7. It probably wont work unless EA releases another patch to allow compatibility.

RTC? you mean RTM? or RC?

RC is release candidate its not a finalized version. Its like that last beta version i believe.
RTM is release to manufacture. So this is the final copy. Windows 7 Ultimate build 7600


so bf2142 doesn't work with windows7? alot of people on the net got bf2 working.

2142 works with w7 currently. Punkbuster did not work with one of the original releases.

I've been running win 7 RTM 32bit for the past 2 or 3 weeks, 2142 and pb work fine, its a lot faster than vista. the only problem is that none of my steam games work cuz i havnt activated windows yet... And then there's the windows xp pro mode, so u can run any incompatible apps with that.

upgrading should solve the majority of your problems. However Beware of asking Punk Buster for any advice, they will tell you that they do not support beta Operating Systems!

does anyone know how long the vista->win7 update takes? cause i don't want a fresh new install..

Ok well imma gonna reinstall my win7 and try again. Hope you all are willing to lend me a hand. To try and get 2142 working with it.

I said RTM, not Beta. I'm not sure if the beta works with any of that stuff.

well it is in fact the RTM that i have... I was cornfused b4 and didnt verify b4 posting.

btw guys vista sp2 beta is out already. I think the final vista sp2 would be here soon... , just a heads up!
