2142 PB probs

Ok I have reinstalled this shit like twice and did all the pb updates until no newer updates are available. But I'm obviously doing something wrong, I probably have to get rid of files/folders. Anywways I have to reintall again and I don't want to do it without a walk-thru because I don't want to have to reinstall it again...

I have the deluxe edition, when I try and join ingame I get Punkbustered about 1 minute into the game. Help would be appreciated

Are you running Windows Vista? If so, you might have to run BF2142 and PB as administrator. If you right click on BF2142, go to Properties, then select the Compatibility tab and check the box that says Run as administrator. I had the same problem a few months back and this fixed it for me.

Check you virus software, i know for McAfee, Punkbuster A and B are both under program permissions and if you dont have them so that they have total access then punkbuster freaks out cause they are not sending signals properly, so try to find something similar if you dont have McAfee. Also, if the prob continues, hit the ~ key when you enter the game and see what is happening, it will do a system check for punkbuster, and say whether signals are being sent back and forth properly. Idk if this helps, that was one of the things i did to fix this prob.
What is the exact msg when you get kicked or does it just say punkbuster?

Thanks for all the help, especially b324.. who knew fixing my PB problem would be as easy as turning somethin on. I should have checked myself but I guess I didn't know where to look lol. It was just sayin Punkbuster no msg when I was gettin kicked.. but It's fixed now. I'm running a Vista 64-bit, because when I installed it said game has only been tested w/ 32 bit. Anyways thanks for all the help b324 & thanks for advice Alli much appreciated
