| Should I start playing battlefield 2142 in 16:9 (1280x720 aka HD) or 2.35:1 (1280x528 aka Animorphic Widescreen aka Theatrical Widescreen) *As you can see. In 16:9 I get alot less wide view but I get some more vertical view. While the 2:35 is really wide but the top and bottom are also cut off. Do you think the top and bottom are even needed in knifing? Would it be an advantage to knife in movie widescreen so you can see more people around you. I mean nobody really jumps anyways right? What do you guys think? |

| I think if you look closely, you will see that you are not able to see more vertical. While there is more space above the light in the in the first one, that is not the ability to see more. For instance, look at the bottom part of the picture and you will see just as much on the bottom. I think if you measured the distance between several points on the 2 pictures, there would be a ratio that would be consistant over both pictures. I'm assuming your using widescreen fixer in those, because normally 2142 shows you the same stuff horizontally but cuts off A LOT virtically. | |

| Not sure what you mean care toreword ? And no I'm nit using idescrr fixer anymore. Ever since the 1.5pTch 2142 supports widescreen resolutions you just have to add +widescreen 1 in the shortcut +fullscrren 0 also adds windows mode. |

| Yeah, not so much. They added support so you thought you could see in widescreen, but it crops the top and bottom in stead of adding to the sides. | |

| Yes I do. It helped me a little with my timing.
Edit: though if you were not using widesceen fixer, then something else must be helping you, maybe -fullscreen 0 fixes the cropping issue while taking it out of fullscreen mode.

| no its because i was using 1280x720 .
The max res is 1280x1024. After that THEN they crop.
at least i think so. |

| Well, I am not going to pretend to know. All I know is that when I use widescreen fixer, I can see more. I have screenshots: Before The Fix #1 After The Fix #1 Before The Fix #2 After The Fix #2 | |

| yeah i noticed too. btw you have 100 fps..you should max out the graphics + some anti aliasing on!
Heres my guess on how this works, if you exceed 1280x1024, then they would down convert lets say 1680x1050 to 1280x1024 and chop off top and bottom.
By downconvert I dont meant literailly down convert, but just like zoom in 1280x1024 til its 1680x1050
so i think if we play in 1280x720 widescreen, we should get the real 1280x720.
teh thing I dont like abotu widescreen fixer is u have to press a button to activate it. sometimes (longtime ago actually),when I knife I forget to active the widescreen fixer. And the whole round I felt like Im a bit closer to everything ....and til the end I realize.. oh right... wsfixer.... |

I usually fight one time and realize something is off, then turn it on.
